Toray Resin Company News
Toray Industries, Inc. has established a new subsidiary, Toray Resin
Company, in order to consolidate Toray's resin businesses in North America.
Toray Resin Co. will sell nylon 6 & 66, PBT, ABS, Acetal and Liquid Crystal
Polyester (LCP) resins and compounds. Toray Resin Co. will service current
customers as well as grow sales by developing new customers and
applications.
Toray began sales of nylon products in North America through MonTor
Performance Plastics, a 50/50 joint venture with Monsanto Company (now
Solutia Inc.), in 1989. Toray PBT and ABS were sold through Toray Marketing
and Sales (America), Inc. At this time these businesses will be combined as
Toray Resin Co., wholly owned by Toray Industries. Toray Resin Co. will also
sell two additional products, Acetal and Liquid Crystal Polymer (LCP). Toray
Resin Co. will sell its products to not only Japanese transplants but also
to domestic users.
